Looking for the next Design Team Star at My Pink Stamper!!!

With the holiday season coming to a close, it's nice to have an extra special reason to get the creative juices flowing.  My all-time-favorite crafter, My Pink Stamper, has announced a call for two new design team members.  Her challenge requires the use of her favorite colors (brown, pink, and green) on a new and original Cricut project, scrapbook page, or card.  The project must be posted to a blog along with the recipe for the masterpiece.

This challenge has only been up for one day and there are already over 100 submissions!  That being said, I knew the competition would be tough.  Therefore I decided a scrapbook page or card just wouldn't do the trick for me.  I came across a 12x12 frame that I got for 1/2 price at Crafts Direct and figured a calendar for the month of February would be perfect!  I chose several Cricut cartridges for this project, but Create a Critter is my all-time favorite.  This cart never fails when putting together a playful scrapbook page of my two year old son or a cute card for my 9 year old daughter.  This cart was used to create the lovable dinosaur at the top of my calendar page (instructions below).

The main calendar is made of rounded squares cut from George and Basic Shapes.
Larger striped squares cut at 1.25" wide x 1.75" tall
Smaller green squares cut at 1.15" wide x  1.15" tall

The word February is from Designer Calendar and is cut at 7" wide x 2" tall

Footprints at the bottom are from Dino Tracks and are cut at 2" wide x 2.75" tall

The dinosaur is from Create A Critter and is cut at 3" wide x 3.5" tall
The main body is done in a light green and is reverse embossed (instructional post to come at a later date).  Add a touch of stickles and he's all blinged up!

Finally I added special Cricut cuts for the two most important dates of the month, Valentine's Day and MY birthday!!!

The heart for Valentine's Day is from Doodlecharms.
Outter scalloped layer is cut at 1" wide x 1" tall.  Inner layer is cut at .85" wide x .85" tall.

The birthday cake is from the Simply Charmed cart and is cut at 1" wide x 1.25" tall.
