Considering I have such a passion for scrapbooking and cardmaking, I find it funny (the sad kind of funny) that I am so horrible at sending Christmas cards each year. I've made a promise to myself to send out at least 25 this year---and I'm finally on my way to accomplishing that. My mom and I went to a crop this weekend and I was able to get 8 cards done so far. I have only done two styles, but I figure it will be easier to get them done on time if I limit how many designs I do.
The first card is completey my style. It has some intricate cuts made with the Cricut as well as Tattered Angels sparkly spray, stickles, and irock gems.
Recipe:
Outside frame is from the new Ornamental Iron cartridge. I absolutely LOVE how detailed these cuts are.
The center square was printed on the Imagine using the Mr. Frosty cartridge.
The bottom layer of the snowflake was cut on the cricut using the Winter Lace cartridge.
And finally the top layer of the snowflake is a spellbinders die.
This second card went together in about a third of the time of the first design. And I can hardly believe I'm typing this, but I didn't even use the Cricut!!!! The bottom layer of green was embossed with a folder that is not Cuttlebug. I don't believe it is marked as Sizzix either, so my guess is it's Quickutz. Then the top is just a sheet of paper from a Christmas paper pack that I bought at Michael's. I cut out a couple of trees from a scrap of the paper and popped them up with pop dots.
So now the goal will be to actually send them out in the mail by the 18th. Wish me luck!!!
